The CID in the Grand-Hornu opens its new exhibition entitled "At the coalface. For a post-carbon design". All the information can be found at https://cid-grand-hornu.be/en/expositions/coalface

During the opening, you will be able to see Vivien Tauchmann's performance Movements from below, with the participation of the public.

By documenting the routine actions and daily physical exhaustion of miners, the German designer links the "past" to the "present", the "here" to the "there"; the exploitation of bodies from the 18th century in the Borinage region to that carried out today in the mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her choreographic project, based on the emotional repetition of movements, will take the form of a performance at the opening of the exhibition.

The performance will be recorded and then presented in a video within the exhibition.

We look forward to seeing you there.
