The opening of our exhibition ‘Autofiction. A biography of the automotive object’ is scheduled for Saturday 5 October, from 6pm, at the CID.
Join us for a preview of the exhibition, in the presence of curator Olivier Peyricot and designers.
The car is an extraordinary object, imposing its delirious infrastructure on the world, shaping the landscape and atmosphere as well as our imaginations: it can be found in the blind spots of our daily lives. There are over 1.2 billion cars on the road today. Presented in 2022 at the Cité du design as part of the 12th Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial, the Autofiction exhibition has been adapted to reflect the latest developments in the question of the automobile object for its presentation at the CID.
A selection of international designers and collective projects mingles with a collection of experiences, testimonials and objects that takes stock of the impact of the car on our lives, and opens up new avenues for more sustainable mobility.
